 Trinket Trading Rules

We love trinket trading! But without some rules, feathers get ruffled and the experience can get unpleasant.

  1. All trinket trading for the festival happens at the Troll Trading Post
    1. This helps to avoid misunderstandings and confusion. If you want to trade, head to the Trading Post
      1. Yes, we mean this. Don't accost other patrons, approach merchants or announce you want to trade in the middle of the Market Hall Bazaar.
      2. Find other traders at the Trading Post and only the Trading Post.
  2. You can trade with the Trolls or each other
    1. Stay as long as you like! This is the place for finding small and unusual treasures and it will change throughout the festival
  3. Trading is for fun not profit
    1. Accept or refuse trades as you like, but if you make people uncomfortable by pressuring them, you will be asked to leave the Trading Post
  4. Trinkets are not to be sold
    1. Unless you have applied for and been accepted as a Merchant at the Festival, you are not allowed to sell things at the Festival
  5. Do not bring trinkets that are similar to items being sold
    1. While we do appreciate you wanting to give your amigurumi or 3d prints away, do not bring items to give away that are likely to be sold by our merchants.
      1. To be clear, don't make a batch of items or purchase a quantity of items to bring with the intention of giving them away or selling them that are items you would reasonably expect merchants to be selling
      2. If you have questions, email us
    2. You can trade items you have bought at the Festival.
  6. You can give away trinkets without a trade
    1. If you just want to give out little things you brought, do it at the Troll Trading Post. That is where people who are open to accepting trinkets will be.
  7. Children must be accompanied by an adult
    1. Unaccompanied children will be taken over the bridge to Cressfell Village and put to work. Or they can plan to be a Junior Volunteer
  8. No promotion
    1. No business cards or logo merchandise in the trading area. This is for whimsical knick-knacks only
  9. No food items
    1. The Trolls eat all of them when no one is looking and usually swallow things not meant to be eaten as well. No one wants to clean up troll sick at the end of the day
  10. No messy items
    1. No glitter, goo or other gunk. Nothing sticky, soiled or sloppy.
  11. Trolls can ask anyone to leave the area for any reason
    1. Don't tick off the Trolls. You wouldn't like them when they are angry.
